In a horrific incident reported from Karachi on Thursday, three sisters, living in the same house in Bhittaiabad area of the city, were brutally murdered after having been repeatedly attacked with a knife.
A man and a 14-year-old girl were seriously injured in the attack. The dead and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital.
Sources in Chhipa said that the deceased women were identified as Meena, Aashi and Dania, while the injured girl was identified as Nandni and the injured man as Ajay Ram. Police said they were trying to ascertain who had murdered these women.
On the other hand, SSP Malir Dr. Abdul Khaliq Pirzada, who rushed to the crime scene, said it was suspected that a maternal uncle of the women had slit their throats. “However, the incident is still being investigated,” he said and added that the injured man was stated to be a maternal uncle of the women.
Soon after learning about the killings, members of the crime scene unit reached the site and began collecting evidence. On the orders of the SSP, special teams of the police were formed for the arrest of the assassin.
Taking notice of the murder of three sisters in Bhittaiabad locality of Karachi, Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar on Thursday ordered the SSP Malir to submit to him a detailed report on the incident.
Lanjar also expressed deep shock and grief over the incident and urged the SSP to make public the reasons that led to the triple murder. “Conduct a transparent inquiry from all angles,” he directed. The minister vowed to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.
