LAHORE: Federal Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari Said electricity overbilling, incorrect meter reading and fake billing will not be tolerated at any cost.
He was addressing inaugural ceremony of Grid Station Shah Saddar Din in Dera Ghazi Khan, which has been upgraded at the cost of 570 million rupees, Radio Pakistan told on Monday.
The Minister said a new law will be enacted soon to declare over-billing a crime.
He said line losses will be controlled on priority basis and stern legal action will be taken against those involved in electricity pilfering to facilitate the domestic users.
Awais Leghari said domestic meters will be issued within two weeks to the consumers after the issuance of demand notices.
